The bathroom was in the iconic Hoover Building where there were bland developers bathrooms with no personality, before the room had a shower over bath, no window and not much thought in the design. Designed by Louise Ashdown, her brief was to create a practical and stunning shower room in a small internal bathroom with no natural light, it was a must for there to be lots of storage, heating and style.
The client’s initial thoughts were that she loved matt black, brass and wanted a touch of pink, initially thought these would be applied to wall coverings and taps only. With the Hoover building being such an iconic building, we wanted to show hints to a bygone era in a contemporary way. We opted for the stunning Cielo Mini Narciso basin in Pink with grey storage drawers on a matt black industrial stand, which also gives a nod to the former factory use of the Hoover Building, but incorporates some deco colours and fun too.
