Victorian Family Home | Master En-Suite

Ramsgate, UK

When the homeowners purchased this Victorian family home, this bathroom was originally a dressing room. With two beautiful large sash windows which have far-fetching views of the sea, it was immediately desired for a freestanding bath to be placed underneath the window so the views can be appreciated.  This is truly a beautiful space that feels calm and collected when you walk in – the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of modern family life.

The bathroom is accessed from the main bedroom via a few steps. Honed marble hexagon tiles from Ca’Pietra adorn the floor and the Victoria + Albert Amiata freestanding bath with its organic curves and elegant proportions sits in front of the sash window for an elegant impact and view from the bedroom.

We opted for Ca’Pietra’s Zen marble mosaic scallop tiles to be the feature in the shower, the marble sits beautifully against the brushed brass fittings.

We wanted to incorporate fluted glass into this ensuite and this bespoke shower screen from Drench was a must. Fluted glass gives a sense of privacy, whilst also introducing texture to the space

Storage was a key factor in this bathroom for the clients. The bespoke Strato vanity composition from Inbani provides ample storage for toiletries, and the spacing in between the floating basin and the vanity unit is useful for spare towels. The recessed mirror cabinets both have plenty of shelving for everyday products whilst still looking stylish, adding an Art Deco touch to the bathroom.
