Evered Supplies Limited founded by joint partners Anthony Waters and Bill Evered who started trading in a single room office in Offley Road, Brixton. The client base consisted of mainly local builders and tradesmen as there was no showroom.
Moved from the single room office to new premises at 32 Brixton Road, which comprised of a ground floor DIY showroom and offices
Evered Supplies Ltd moved to larger premises comprising of a showroom with more storage space and offices. This was located at 308 Brixton Road.
Acquired the prestigious “Shanks” showroom located at 18 North Audley Street, Mayfair. At this time it’s fair to say they were pioneers of the luxury bathroom market in London – there was no other showroom like it
The company name became renowned within the luxury bathroom industry, supplying to all sectors including many notable projects such as the bathrooms for the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. This was the first of many product placements.
Partnership with Bill Evered ended and Anthony Waters continued pursuing the luxury bathroom market and West One Bathrooms Ltd was established. West One Bathrooms Ltd retained the Mayfair showroom and saw the acquisition of new warehouse and trade counter premises at 60 Queenstown Road, Battersea
West One Bathrooms Ltd started distributing Porcelaine de Paris in the United Kingdom. The company for the first time exhibited at a trade fair in Saudi Arabia, as one of the first luxury bathroom companies to do so.
West One Bathrooms exhibited internationally in Bahrain. It was such a success everything displayed was bought off the stand
The Mayfair showroom was relocated to new, larger premises at 46 South Audley Street, where the showroom still resides today.
1992 saw the start of the gradual conversion of the Queenstown Road warehouse over to a bathroom showroom and larger trade counter
West One Bathrooms Ltd acquired B&P Wynn and saw West One Bathrooms Ltd move into distribution to other showrooms nationwide. The company started importing and distributing Maurice Herbeau, Horus and Jado.
The “Even bathrooms as good as ours need a little plug” slogan was created as part of an increase in advertising and marketing to support Battersea as an up and coming area. The plug billboard gained fame on Capital radios’ travel updates as being frequently referred to as “the plug billboard in Battersea”
New showroom and warehouse facilities acquired at 130/138 Garrat Lane Wandsworth. The showroom was one of the first monobrand showrooms at the time be fully dedicated to Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware and tiles.
Wandsworth announced “Bathroom Showroom of the Year 1999” and Knightsbridge showroom opens
The Wandsworth showroom won “Bathroom Showroom of the Year 1999” Award at the annual Kitchen and Bathroom Industry Award ceremony. Later the same year, the prestigious Knightsbridge showroom opened on Thurloe Place
Acquired Durante Bathrooms in London’s Brompton Cross integrated into West One Bathrooms Group.
The company exhibited at the tradeshow “Decorex” for the first time and won a Silver Medal award for “Best stand”. The artisan brand “Creation J C Delepine” from Cannes in France is integrated into the West One Bathrooms Group
Battersea relocated to a newer purpose-made showroom at 41 Queenstown Road, where we still have a showroom today. View the showroom.
The company opened its first out-of-town showrooms in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and Forest Row, Sussex. To accommodate continued growth new larger warehouse premises were acquired at Kimber Road, Wandsworth
The Wandsworth showroom relocated a few metres away to a new purpose built showroom at 142 Garratt Lane, London, SW18.
The monobrand Clerkenwell showroom opened in September witth KOHLER and Kallista. November 2011 also saw the Tunbridge Wells showroom relocated in to larger premises over three floors at 79 Calverley Road.
West One Bathrooms’ third out-of-town showroom opens in Oxshott, Surrey. Alongside Tunbridge Wells these showrooms provide greater reach and access to brands outside of London.
West One Bathrooms prestigious Notting Hill showroom was opened in July 2014.
To accommodate the company’s rapid expansion and future growth, the administration and warehouse facility moved to new larger premises south of London in Chessington, Surrey.
West One Bathrooms Ltd was awarded the ekbbusiness “Master Retailer of the Year” award within the bathroom category. The company exhibited at Decorex for the second time
West One acquires the Ann Sacks and Kallista showroom located in the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour in April 2017. In the same year, we were announced the winners of “Best Bathroom Design” at The International Design&Architecture Awards held at The Dorchester in London.
West One Bathrooms celebrates their 40th anniversary. Now in its third generation, still family run now with ten outstanding showrooms across London and the South East. It continues to grow and serve its international clientele.
West One Bathrooms exhibited at The Bathroom Gallery which took place at The Old Truman Brewery in September 2019. The Bathroom Gallery, was the first and only dedicated bathroom event taking place during the London Design Festival.
A mood board and portable concept in the Clerkenwell Showroom places emphasis on texture and finish, whilst also providing a select number of bathroom displays and accessory ranges offering a unique experience for customers. The showroom is no longer a mono-brand showroom and on display are the latest collections from selected leading brands from our extensive portfolio of over 750 global suppliers.
Due to expansion in the area, the Tunbridge Wells showroom moved to larger premises. The new showroom has been designed to showcase the company’s signature luxury bathroom displays and brands whilst providing a unique offering and experience for customers, illustrating their forward-thinking approach to retail today. In the same year, we were announced the winners of BKU Awards “Omni-channel Bathroom Retailer of the Year 2021”.
Due to our continuing commitment to provide the latest inspirational showrooms, both our Chelsea townhouse showroom and Mayfair basement underwent complete renovation, incorporating the successful Studio Concept.
Our Victorian Villa Project won the Bathroom Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2023! That same year, our Battersea showroom underwent its most dramatic refurbishment since its opening in 2003 – with over 30 full displays, the showroom remains one of our largest showrooms full of inspiration.
The Battersea Showroom won Bathroom Showroom of the Year Award at the KBBReview Retail and Design Awards 2024! In the same year, our two storey Mayfair Accessories Boutique has been fully refurbished. The showroom, that was originally opened in 1991, still displays the largest and most varied collection of luxury bathroom accessories in the world
