As part of a comprehensive whole-house renovation, this stunning bathroom transformation was undertaken alongside the creation of a basement level and a spacious rear extension. The project sought to seamlessly blend classical elegance with modern functionality while maintaining the home’s Edwardian charm.

The homeowners wanted a bathroom that respected the home’s Edwardian roots without strictly adhering to a period aesthetic. The brief was to create a refined space with a subtle feminine touch while ensuring it remained a shared retreat. Inspired by the hand-painted plum blossom wall covering in the adjoining bedroom, the design incorporates New Ravenna Plum Blossom glass tiles in a complementary palette. Timeless Lefroy Brooks Mackintosh nickel fittings further enhance the room’s sophisticated appeal.
One of the primary challenges was accommodating all the client’s requirements within a compact footprint. Nash Baker Architects carefully reallocated space from the adjoining bedroom to optimize functionality. The curved front of the bathtub was a practical response to these constraints but has since become a standout design feature, seamlessly blending form and function.
