Incorporating colour in bathroom

Design Inspiration

Strong colours especially ones that repeat to build a cohesive palette are fundamental for pulled-together looks. Repeating colours  in a space creates rhythm and cohesion. It leads your eye from element to element and creates a sense of cohesion. Explore ways in which we incorporated colour in bathrooms.

Coloured Sanitary Ware

Embrace a living bathroom design and move away from the norm with brightly coloured sanitary ware. Complete the look with accessories such as funky rug and plants to add style, just as you would elsewhere in the home. I Catini basin with a drawer is ads a subtle touch of character to the bathroom paired with the contrasting dark green scallop tile.

Art

Placing art on the walls can really elevate your scheme and add personality. This can be a finishing that that is often overlooked when planning a functional space. Consider adding artwork or one or two prints to bring the overall look together. The monochrome patterned tile compliments the matt black shower frame and the skirting around the loo.

Wallpaper

Introduce colour and texture with waterproof wallpaper. Often used in wet rooms and in spaces where it will have direct contact with water, it can be used anywhere in the bathroom to add a statement. This floral wallpaper come in a variety of colours and is perfect for shower enclosures as well as around the basin. Discover more about coloured concrete basins here.

Colour play in the shower room

We love to see bold colours rising in popularity. If you are feeling cautious, a cloakroom is a great way to experiment. It is small enough that decorating won’t be a huge expense, yet the impact is high as it is one of the most used room in the house. Here, navy panelling was paired with green leaf patterned wallpaper alongside a wall-hung basin and matt black brassware.

Tiles

Tiles are power in a way of adding pattern, texture and colour in an interior. The options of porcelain, ceramic tiles are endless. From imitated natural stone options, to wood alternatives and abstract retro patterns, to geometric lines,  fluted textures, hexagonal shapes and more. There is something for anyone and any style. Don’t be afraid to mix the  textures and shapes,  as it  creates layers of interest and movement.

Brassware

With some careful planning and a little imagination, you can transform the look and feel of any room simply by adding some colourful taps. When choosing colourful brassware, think about coordinating it with other elements in the bathroom like the tile, wallpaper, or accessories. You might choose a brassware that picks up the colours in your wallpaper or floor tile. Have fun while mixing and matching different colours and finishes of brassware. For example, you might choose an orange basin tap and pair it with a bronze shower head and towel heater.
