As part of a restoration project to a six-bedroom Georgian Farmhouse, the brief for the master ensuite was to create a space that was relaxed yet luxurious. Our client had a clear idea of the relaxed, luxurious feel she wanted to achieve, specifying a subtle palette of brushed brass fittings and muted colours.
Georgian Farmhouse, Master Suite
Kent
Tall cupboards, designed by the client and made by a local joiner, have been built into the alcoves on both sides of the chimney breast.
The freestanding bath is the key feature of the room. Made of chalky white Cristalplant, a bio-based solid surface material that is perfectly smooth and adapts beautifully to create slightly curved edges, the bath makes a striking focal point in the middle of the space. It is balanced by a large shower enclosure, tucked to the left as you enter the room, with a stud wall beyond to screen the WC.
All the colours in the room are gentle, and the different textures – from the polished floor tiles to the gentle gleam of the brassware and the chalk finish of the bath – add the subtle interest.
