Design Tip: Introducing colour into the bathroom
We have spent years eradicating colours from our bathrooms but now people are embracing colour in their lives, interiors run hand in hand with fashion, and what goes around generally comes back around…but with a renewed vigour.
Primo Lux is the new 70s suite. Colours in ceramics are making a big come back, especially in shower trays where we can match floor tiles or glossy black pans for the ever so popular black tap bathrooms. With the contemporary lines that this collection offers and its matt finish, due to being made entirely from Solid Surface, there is every modern element ticket but now with the growing colours available for this range, the nostalgic bathroom is coming to life.
How important is it to introduce colour into the bathroom?
It is increasingly easy to add colour into the bathroom, with subtle colour ceramics such as our new Primo Lux collection or Alape’s new collection of surface basins in ice-cream colours. Another option is the cost-effective and flexible solution of waterproof wallpaper – you can be as bold of safe as you like. People are not only seeing their bathroom as a sanctuary but also a place to express personality. You could start by experimenting with vanity unit shades or by adding a coloured surface basin paired with some taps in a special finish for a real statement look.
